Beautiful wooden ice bucket designed by Jean Dobré and produced by Tropic-Art (Brazil) around the 1970s.
The wood is quite thick and the interior is made of waterproof hard plastic coated with Styrofoam to retain the temperature.
Most of the pieces designed by Jean Dobré and produced by Tropic-Art were handcrafted using the "madeira taqueada" technique which consisted of seamlessly joining different rectangular pieces of wood. The woods used were Jacaranda, Pau Marfim, or Imbuia.
Given the beauty and age of the piece it is not recommended for everyday use. We recommend its use as a decorative vintage design piece.
Maker's mark engraved on the base.
The ice bucket has some signs of age, such as scratches on the wood, but overall, it is in very good condition. It does not appear to have been used for its intended purpose.
Measurements:
Height - Approx. 27 cm
Diameter - 14.5 cm approx.
