Original figure depicting a Venetian gondolier with a beautiful lady reclining on the same gondola. Authentic Art Deco aesthetic in the purest Karl Hagenauer style. There are several very similar and practically identical examples, but marked with the Hagenauer WW stamp. The difference in this model is the gondolier's hat; in the examples marked as original, the hat is attached to the head by means of a cast mold. In this case, the hat is removable by means of a screw. See photograph number 5 (circled).
The figures are gilt bronze and silver-plated. The gondola or base is made of black-painted wood.
The figures show chips in the chrome plating as well as the original patina of time. The gondola has several defects. Crack or chip at the stern tip, and the bow is broken and poorly glued. See photographs for details.
Please note that this is an original piece from the 1940s and has the described defects, as well as other minor defects such as paint chips, a possible bent oar, or other defects not detailed. While we do not accept returns, we do try to provide as much detail as possible about the condition of our items, and any questions or concerns regarding the item are welcome.
