A beautiful small ceramic vase with a wide mouth, decorated with fish and geometric motifs inspired by African art and ancient civilizations. The vase is the work of the renowned international ceramist Paul Jacquet, who won a gold medal at the Exposition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925. This vase was likely made in his own workshop in the late 1920s. Later, the artist began working with the Primavera workshops. An extremely rare piece.
Good overall condition. Minor age chips on the upper rim and base. The most noticeable chips are shown in detail in the photographs.
Hand-signed by the artist and stamped with the mark of his first workshop 'PJ'.
