Exceptional matched collection of three antique porcelain french plates from the late 19th century, originally used as chromatic reference palettes in French artistic and decorative workshops. This set, signed A. Lacroix & Cie – Paris, represents a rare and complete color study sample from the period.

Each plate features a radial display of hand-painted color samples, showing subtle gradations from light to dark across a wide spectrum of hues, including blues, greens, yellows, reds, violets, earth tones, greys, and intermediate shades. The original handwritten inscriptions around the rim identify the pigments and enhance the piece’s historical and documentary significance.

The three plates form a coherent and complementary series, originally conceived to function together as a reference tool, and today highly valued as a collector’s set with strong visual impact, ideal for wall display, creative studios, galleries, or artistically curated interiors.

Condition: All three pieces are in excellent preserved condition, with no chips or cracks and with strong color intensity. Always kept in a private collector’s display cabinet. Any areas of color that may appear blurred or worn are due to studio light reflections (see photographs).
